JIM BEALL, THE NEWLY ELECTED SANTA CLARA COUNTY
SUPERVISOR TAKES OATH OE OEFICE
SAN JOSE, California— Jim Beall, San Jose Councilmember for 14 years will
formally take the oath of office for Santa Clara County Supervisorial District 4
on January 9, at 5:30 in the Boardroom at 70 West Hedding Street in San Jose.
As a lifetime resident of Santa Clara County, Supervisor Beall will bring to
the Board of Supervisors a fresh perspective and wealth of experience.
When asked why he chose to run for this office, his response was "Naturally,
to serve the people countywide. I look forward to addressing issues that are
human- related. My contribution to the field of transportation has been wellreceived by county residents, but social services, public health and the
criminal justice system are issues that indeed impact all of us and require
attention.
His objective is to take a system approach, make services more
efficient for users and plan for long-term changes that will make better use of
precious tax dollars. He adds, "the established relationships I have with all
the other supervisors will allow me to work with them to make visible
change for the future of Santa Clara County. That is a big asset."
A reception will follow the ceremony in the cafeteria of the Government
Center.
